B. 1971, ENGLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY Shannon Ebner was born in Englewood, New Jersey, in 1971. She received her BA from Bard College in 1993, and her MFA in photography from Yale University in 2000. Ebner’s artwork takes various modes of language—including poetry, symbols, and political rhetoric—and reconciles them through the lens of photography, thereby critically examining the limits and ambiguities of language and representation.
